Driftworks

Published 2012, Leaf Press

Driftworks is a series of poems that explores the distance between manmade constructs and natural spaces, expressed through the physical and conceptual aspects of a road-trip.

With the essence of a long poem, this thematic collection uses contrasting styles of poetry, drawing on both narrative and experimental influences, as a vehicle to pull the reader through this exploration — much like the car that pulls its passengers through rural and urban spaces. It provides an opportunity for the reader to observe not only the physical journey but the people that populate the stops along the road.

Contemplating Vows

Published 2011, Katabatic Books

Contemplating Vows is a collaborative work, co-written by Nicole Pakan and Patrick M Pilarski and published by Katabatic Books in 2011. The poems are inspired by love, but not in the traditional romantic sense. It celebrates light heartedness, finding love notes in one’s shoes, and the everyday wonders that make every couple unique.
